Vintage : 2021 (15% vol.)

This wine is one of the great red wine vintages of Gérard BERTRAND's estate. This VIALA is a red wine of a rare density with a velvety texture and well marked black fruit aromas. It is aged for 12 months in new oak barrels, giving it elegance and a great ageing capacity.

After maturing, this Viala is kept at rest in the cellar for 12 months before being marketed. It is offered ready to drink, but with a good ageing capacity.

We discovered this wine at the same time as Chateau l'Hospitalet, the clapper, and we found it much superior to the latter, yet Chateau l'Hospitalet has obtained the title of "best wine in the world" so imagine the quality of this one!

For us, this red wine is barely below the AIGLE ROYAL cuvée from the same estate, which is truly the pinnacle of excellence in Languedoc red wines, but it is not that far off.

A great wine deserves a great meat, LE VIALA will accompany marvellously well a grilled rib of beef with a mushroom sauce or a beautiful game. If you still have a little left over when it comes to cheese, you will also appreciate this great red wine with good, well-ripened farmhouse cheeses.
