"Make the wines that look like me and that I enjoy!" These are the words of Stéphane PICHAT who welcomed us in his cellar for a tasting session.

The PICHAT estate has been cultivating vines for several generations but has only been selling directly since the beginning of the 2000s.

Stéphane makes 3 cuvées of Côte-Rôtie and his 3 cuvées are very personalized, even going so far as to create a different label per bottle.

It is Stéphane, and his wife Sandrine, who choose the artist and the work that will be printed on the labels, reflecting the character and philosophy of the wine.

This cuvée "CHAMPON'S" is a blend of 98% Syrah and 2% Viognier. The plots are located on 3 localities within the Côte-Rôtie appellation: Champon, Plom and the famous Grandes Places plot.

Aged for 24 months in oak barrels which allows tasting from the moment of bottling.

The tasting shows a wine where red fruits are very present both in the nose and in the mouth. A spicy sensation on the finish with a good length.

A wine that can be appreciated in its youth, notably thanks to the touch of viognier which brings freshness, and which will be at its peak 6-8 years after bottling.
